I'll overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer will face Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be broadcast live on Netflix.

British boxer Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair came face-to-face to build hype for the upcoming bout.

Former two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a massive uneven pairing - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Civil Exchange

In spite of these statements, a composed Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - normally recognized for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Joshua, meanwhile, criticized UK rival Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'The Gypsy King' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer commented.

"I acknowledge that."

Legitimate Fighter

Despite stating he plans to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua refused to comment unfavorably about his rival's pugilistic talent.

"Jake is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Commercial Success

However, the novice is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Belief

The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"The next fight will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Paul said.

Physical Difference

As both boxers met for the usual stare-down, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how unlikely this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly happening.
